They Have a Contract
Here is a couple that is fighting back. They had a fixed rate contract with Gexa but were still gouged! They have tried to resolve their issues with Gexa and Centerpoint via normal channels - to no avail. When I talked to them they related the fact that their bill was many times their normal bill for several months. They continued to press and all of a sudden things went back to normal. But no explanation as to why three months of high bills - so now they have filed a formal complaint with the PUC.
There is something really fishy going on as there is no clear explanation for the high bills and things suddenly got better when they pressed for answers. Did Gexa just need a few months of high income to counter hurricane Ike?
